Better naming probably would have been a good idea. It is even more confusing because it is counter-intuitive for most people. They hear the Petite part and expect a lighter Syrah. Then they are surprised by how powerful Petite Sirah really is.

Ah, sometimes I wonder if these hybrids should have been given entirely different names.

Glad that you liked it! I am the same way. I love them both, but those inky dark fruit bombs are irresistible.

Thanks! I have nothing against Cabs, I have some very nice ones in my cage, but the Syrahs and Petite Sirahs never hang around for long. :)

Excellent article. I drink and enjoy both, thought Petite Sirah wins my heart, most of the time.
