Dennis is one cool dude! If you look carefully in the background of the Sebastiani glasses in our calendar, you may be able to see him, as he was sitting directly across from us when I shot the picture! Looking forward to meeting you in July.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Thanks! Sorry for my tardy reply. I can't wait to visit again. Lucky for us, I did find a Michel-Schlumberger locally -- but we're looking forward to seeing Judd again in a couple weeks.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Hi Bill, thanks for stopping by. I have added your blog to our links page. Cheers!

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Amy,
Thanks for sharing this story about your excursion during the Wine Bloggers Conference. I am planning to attend the conference this year. This will be my first time attending, as I am a relatively new blogger on the block! Dennis Grimes recommended I click over to your blog and I am glad I did!

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

I was on the walk and your post is excellent! You were working girl! :)

The picnic we had was fabulous. The two wines served were a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot. I have since returned, and met with Judd who showed me around the tasting room and cottage (there is a master suite and a full kitchen for VIPs) I bought several bottles of wine and recommend this winery for everyone who has the opportunity to go to Dry Creek. Btw, it's easy to get to through the "front" gate.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

It helps to take lots of pictures, then I can fill in what my memory alone might forget.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

I loved the walk through the wooded part. Especially since the temperatures cooled at least 10 degrees!

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Wow!! You've created an excellent memory of the Michel-Schlumberger vineyard walk with great photos. Thank you Amy !!!

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Loved the references to what always remains "home" to me. I enjoyed the article and the pictures.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

AND their wines were great as well!

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

The colors were really great. Not just one red, but some were almost claret. We don't get to see all these colors in the Texas Gulf Coast, because leaves rarely turn in our area. It was truly beautiful.

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

It sounds like all of the walks were great, but Michel-Schlumberger did it up EXTRA special. It was easily a top ten morning for me. Glad I didn't try and stick to my guns on my original choices. :)

Re: October Surprise – Michel-Schlumberger Vineyard Walk

Oh, their vines had color! I was hoping to see some nice reds on our vineyard walk but, all we had were yellows.
